Equilibrium’s Water and Waste Team

Equilibrium’s Water and Waste (EQWW) team launched the Wastewater Opportunity Fund to provide project-level equity financing to develop, design, build and operate distributed wastewater facilities. The fund’s projects target the agricultural waste, industrial food waste and municipal wastewater sectors where revenues are generated from renewable electricity, renewable fuel, waste processing, and nutrient sales.  The team is expanding to build a $1 billion portfolio of water and waste processing assets over the next several years and is looking to hire a junior level Operations Analyst to expand the Investments team.


  • Responsible for preparing project level financial and production reports for EQWW assets, asset performance analysis, contract review, and various day-to-day support tasks.
  • Ensure that data and documentation for assets are captured and tracked properly during the course of the project lifecycle. 
  • Gather and analyze operational reports from the entire portfolio of investments.  Assist in receiving and reviewing annual plans, budgets and operational performance and compare to the plan of record including during and after commissioning.
  • Work with project partners to ensure regulatory and environmental compliance records and reports are complete and submitted in a timely manner to various regulatory agencies. If required, prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual monitoring and compliance reports to the regulatory bodies and project sponsors.
  • Create, expand, or optimize current compliance processes and procedures within the portfolio of Assets.  Enforcement of policies, procedures, standard operating procedures, etc. across the organization and with 3rd party providers
  • Oversee project commissioning and start-up documentation is received from construction and development partners.  Ensure contract compliance, warranty information, performance guarantees, and owner acceptance criteria are met.
  • Coordinate with project stakeholders and managers to review operational and financial reports. Perform analysis on quality, timeliness, compliance,  and make recommendations to management for improvement.
  • Project tracking and coordination across multiple business functions, including Accounting, Engineering, Underwriting, Investment, and Management Committee.
  • Administrative support: invoice review/investigation/approval, document organization, database management, etc.
  • Assigned projects may include statistical analysis, policy and procedure development, contract development, budget development, and asset condition assessments.
  • Two - four years of professional experience in roles that have required strong analytical and problem-solving skills, preferably in a Business, Engineering or Investment context.
  • Must possess an undergraduate degree with a preference for candidates with degrees in operations management, business, technical degree (Industrial/Systems Engineer) or equivalent major.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain strong relationships both internally and externally, working in a cross-functional small team environment.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • A passion for sustainable investing and asset management.
  • Team-oriented with ability to work in dynamic and entrepreneurial environment.
  • PMP Certified or knowledge and application of Program Management Best Practices (PMP/PMBP/PMBOK, Lean, Six Sigma, or other related training.).
  • Desire and capability to focus on operational details and data information systems and propose potential solutions. Basic understanding of financial statements and project models.


  • Experience in water, wastewater, waste management, renewable energy, real estate, project financing, or debt financing is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Excited about working and living in Portland, Oregon
